Account, workspace and permissions
Team settings, what Justin can see in Slack, and how to remove it.
One Justin account per team, shared across Slack and web — one set of connectors and one memory.
1. Your team
The first person to sign up for a domain creates the team and becomes its owner.
Colleagues who sign up afterwards join that team.
2. Workspace settings
Open Settings › Preferences in app.getjustin.ai/settings.
Control whether Justin keeps taking part in a thread it has joined, whether guests and other organizations can reach it, and whether it may join channels on its own.
Set custom instructions that apply to your whole team.
These are owner-only, and every change is written to the audit log.
3. What Justin can see in Slack
Public channels — Justin can join a public channel on its own, and read and post messages there. A team owner can turn that off in Settings.
Private channels — Justin can only get in if someone invites it. Once it is in, it reads and posts the same way.
Files and images shared in any channel it is in, so you can ask it about a spreadsheet or a screenshot.
An emoji reaction on your message while a request is running, removed when it is done.
Basic profile information — name and email — to match a Slack user to a member of your team.
4. What it cannot see
Private channels it has not been invited to.
Direct messages between other people.
What you say to Justin in a direct message is not visible to the rest of your team.
5. Remove Justin
Remove it from a channel and it stops reading and posting there immediately.
Uninstall it from your Slack workspace’s app management settings at any time.
Or disconnect the workspace from the Slack tab in app.getjustin.ai/settings.
6. Delete your data
Email support@getjustin.ai with the subject line Data Request.
No account and no support portal required; a person replies within 2 business days.
Deletions are completed within 30 days. See the privacy policy for what is collected and how long it is kept.
